I listen to hours upon hours of focus groups that talk to swing voters exclusively, done by professional research companies and undertaken in a dry academic settings.

Hours and hours of swing voters in swing states, explaining themselves, being asked questions smartly designed to tease out their reasoning by very objective emotional neutral researchers and what any rational and sane person can gather from listening to this in the volume and frequency I have, is that these people are not smart.

In fact many of them or mindless, droning morons, who spend as much time rationalizing their intellectual laziness as anything else.

Their politics, if you can call it, is based on random shit they saw on the internet, rumors, suspicions, conspiracy theories, movies, TV shows and fragments of knowledge they have retained from generations of civic classes taught by gym teachers.

These are not fit voters, they have no idea what they are doing or talking about. But here they are in key positions, by design, shit'n and grinnin, foisting on us, some of the most self-inflicted damage and unforced errors in the history of our country.
But, they did have a meme on their phone that they saved, because it’s the TRUTH sheeple!

The only panacea for this system is a righteously informed, divinely angry, media literate and proactive citizenry, who can't be tricked easily.

because our political system in nothing more than another show on TV.
The reality of how it affects them is obscured by the boring process of power, and they have neither the attention span or will to crack it.
That's the real hopelessness, a populace too lazy, too self interested, to disconnected to bother to exercise the only power they have left and instead, let it withier into atrophy, surrendering the culture and country to the tyrants by default.

So, I laugh at your nail studded paddle, your little whips and chains and prosthetic silicon fists. For real hardcore masochists, nothing is more punishing that being a political junkie in 21 century America and watching your entire country pull a Dazee.
